There is a saying that a “picture is worth a thousand words.
It was supposed to mean that an image can tell a story about the subject or about the picture. Our photos bring back memories that in itself tells us a lot about what we are viewing. In the age of digital photography that is so true because an image taken with a digital camera records information about the image as well. The problem is that the information is not only viewable to the user, but to everyone else as well. It may seem harmless at first, but so much information can be revealed by a photo once it is uploaded on the Internet to photo sharing websites, social media apps and blogs. Read more
A high-end sound system will set you back on your budget, but what you get is more fidelity and sound resolution.
In the end it will be worth it especially for watching 4K movies. The only problem is getting the right system configuration so that you get the most out of your money. Some systems do not make full use of the hardware and features because of improper installation. This guide will go over the basics. There is no one stop solution for everyone’s audio needs. Every room and setup is unique, taking into account the hardware and location’s acoustics. When you setup a sound system for a small man cave, that is different from a mini-theater because of the difference in the amount of space required to fill the room with sound. I will concentrate on typical home multi-channel audio entertainment systems that are ideal for a den, living room and the man cave setup i.e. home theater configurations. Read more
HDR (High Dynamic Range)is a photographic technique (not to be confused with HDR in color graphics) that adds more luminosity and clarity in detail to an image to add more visual appeal.
The Beauty and Color of an Image
Depending on how you post process your final image, it can appear either too surreal or actually enhance the beauty and color of an image. The technique to capturing a nice HDR image depends on the photographer’s exposures and the retouchers editing. Cameras also have advanced features that can take HDR images without having to post process, all done by in camera software. Read more
There is a paradigm shift taking place in the imaging industry with the introduction of computational photography.
This field involves digital image capture and processing techniques that use digital computation or algorithms instead of standard optical processes. It is very unconventional and may seem to be at odds with traditional photography. However, I see it as complementing traditional photography. Computational photography introduces new features in imaging that bring visualization beyond what traditional conventional photography offers, and it takes it to another level. The application for it is in 3D imaging, AR (Augmented Reality), VR (Virtual Reality) and MR (Mixed Reality) environments which are bringing new ways of storytelling for filmmakers and allowing creatives to explore new ways of shooting video, developing video games and creating digital content. We are already seeing its applications on consumer devices, most noticeably on smartphones. Read more
